Six kassippu dens close to islands of madu ganga at balapitiya raided

The officers in the Excise Station of Galle succeeded in arresting 6 persons with lakth of rupees worth of kassippu and brewing instruments from kassippu brewing dens, which were carried out  for a long time near the Islands of Madu Ganaga at Balapitiya.


About Rs.110000 worth of sprit, about Rs. 230000 of goda and 6 brewing sets worth about Rs.200000 were taken in to custody.

Excise officers said that large scale environmental pollution is taking place, due to cutting of drains. As well fish resources are diminishing due to pouring hot goda into the river.

On the advice of Mr. B.A.Dayarahna, the Assistant Commissioner of Excise, Southern Province and Mr. M.W.D.Kulathunga, Superintendent of Excise Galle,  the Officer in Charge of Excise Station of Galle Mr. Sumith Chandra Kumara, Excise Inspectors Mendis, bandusena, Dhammika, Nayanapriya, Senadeera, Seargent Major Rathnapala, Guards Sadaruwan, Madhawa, Nuwan, Krisahntha,Indika, Sisira, Wimaladasa, and Driver Jinendra took part in the raid.
